The Court Operations section is the largest in the Law Enforcement Division and it's primary responsibility is to ensure security in the county courts. Modern security and communications equipment has been installed in the courthouse to enhance security without impacting court operations. Officers are assigned to security posts, criminal and family courts, corridors, prisoner holding/detention facilities and areas outside the building. They operate X-ray machines and metal detectors, a closed-circuit television system, alarms and communications. Sheriff's Officers typically supervise more than 8,500 prisoners each year.

Sheriff's Officers posted in the courts have made numerous arrests, confiscated many weapons, and prevented incidents that could have escalated into violent confrontations. They are trained in emergency first aid, evacuations, prisoner transport and security for high-risk trials.
